Each person has tremendous worth in God’s sight. Out of His great love for us, God created humanity in His own image, morally free and responsible to choose between good and evil. However, because of our choices, each person has fallen short of God’s perfection.
God’s only son, Jesus Christ, died as the complete payment for the price of all wrong-doing (sin) and came back to life. Like a defense attorney before God the Father, for the forgiveness of sin Jesus successfully pleads the case of all those who believe in Him. Full forgiveness and eternal life in heaven are free gifts from God; one simply needs to ask for forgiveness and invite Jesus to be the leader of one’s life.
The Bible is God’s inspired word (written by men, but directed by the Holy Spirit) and provides encouragement, wisdom, and guidance. It teaches the truth about God, His creation, the destiny of mankind, the way to God, and the life of faith. An important guiding principle for believers is to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength” and to “love your neighbor as you love yourself.”
The Church exists to fulfill God’s purpose on earth, assisting every follower of Christ to serve God (with the giftedness God has provided) and live a life that is pleasing to Him.
How can one know God?
